In the mean time, if you're interested, you can download a Visual C# Express template for creating a custom Windows Home Server Console add-in. It's built almost entirely from the sample code in the beta WHS SDK on MSDN. To use it, download it to:
%userprofile%\My Documents\Visual Studio 2005\Templates\ProjectTemplates\Visual C#
without unzipping it. You will have to change the reference to HomeServerExt.dll from the location I used to wherever you have placed your development copy of that DLL (unless you think exactly like I do, a scary thought...). Everything else should work, I think.
You can also download a VB Express template that's otherwise basically identical to the above VC# template. Change the Visual C# in the path above to Visual Basic.
For both templates, I'm interested in learning what you do with them, and I really expect you to tell me if there's a major problem with the template.
